The title of tonight’s first abstract expressionist illustration is “Bleeding For Everyone”.
People who don’t now assume that artists create art because it is a fun little thing that we do much like crocheting or needlepoint. The fact of the matter is that artists create for pain, for joy, for expression, and for the hell of it. I think what is lost on the average person is artist’s create because we have no choice. Art is the blood that runs through our veins. Our art is the fuel fuel that keeps our bodies alive. If you look at any artist as they are creating you will see a mixture of joy, happiness, and pure agony. Whatever the hardwired drive is deep within we have no choice. Or maybe I am wrong and it is like crochet or needlepoint.
