Soot On My Tissue

The name of today’s abstract illustration is “Crushed By The Weight Of The Tasks At Hand”.

I realized today that I am stretching myself thin on multiple fronts. I have been a bit like Mike Rowe on “Dirty Jobs”. Lifting a water heater and fixng a roof are not my favorite things to do. It seems like a new emergency or problem requires my attention every two minutes. I do not like being dirty and yet I seem to always get involved in things that make me filthy. Yesterday I helped put in a water heater the size of refrigerator in my basement. My nose is still decorating tissues with black soot. As I left to return to my studio I received a call from my son and wife telling me the washing machine was pouring water out and filling my already flooded basement. After returning home I manned the shop vacuum and secured the drainage hose. I have been playing catch up at the artist mill all day. I am finally able to sit down to write the blog. In a perfect world my next emergency won’t be for a few days. My meditation training has taught me to smoothly switch gears and attempt the creation of art. It i now the end of post for today so drawing table here I come.
