The Space Between

The title of today’s abstract illustration is “Guarding My Mind From Outside Penetrating Thoughts”.

Today is the day after Thanksgiving and about three weeks before Christmas. I like to take these days and fully enjoy the last vestige of fall. We are in such a frantic hurry to sprint towards Christmas after Halloween that we lose the true beauty of fall. The bright yellows and oranges. The smell of pumpkin scented everything and the underlying coziness with a tinge of creepiness that autumn brings. Christmas has a darker palette and while it has it’s own beauty I still truly love the fall. My Birthday is in October nd my two boys also share the month with me. So today on this perfectly crisp day I am choosing to slowly say goodbye to my favorite time of year. Goodbye applefest in Mystic. Goodbye Scituate art festival. Goodbye ghost stories at Mystic Seaport. I can do this all day long. If I can bestow one idea upon you today it’s try to take time after the chaos to enjoy the thigs that make you happy.
